About

Yasmin the Teacher follows Yasmin when her teacher, Ms. Alex, is unexpectedly called away and leaves Yasmin in charge of the classroom. At first, Yasmin thinks being the teacher will be easy, but her classmates soon become silly and noisy and ignore her instructions.

Faced with the responsibility of restoring order, Yasmin must think creatively and quickly before Ms. Alex returns. She comes up with a clever way to motivate her classmates to settle down and finish their math assignment. The story introduces young readers to themes of responsibility, leadership, problem-solving, and cooperation through an accessible school situation.

Like other books in the Yasmin series, it also includes supplemental features such as discussion questions, an Urdu glossary, information about Pakistan, and an activity, while portraying Yasmin and her multigenerational Pakistani American family.
