About

Beatrix Potter had a nice washerwoman, Kitty MacDonald, who was the inspiration for Mrs. Tiggy-winkle. Since Kitty was not a hedgehog, Beatrix Potter used Mrs. Tiggy, her own pet hedgehog, as a model. Together they make the lovely Mrs. Tiggy-winkle.
