Adam Eddington landed a summer job with the world-famous Dr. O'Keefe, who works on an island off the coast of Portugal. Waiting at the airport for his flight, a beautiful girl introduces herself to him. Her name is Kali Cutter and she's on her way to Portugal, too. When she off-handedly warns Adam about two passengers on his flight - Canon Tallis and the young girl traveling with him, Poly O'Keefe - Adam doesn't take her seriously. But when Poly disappears from Adam's flight and he's held responsible, he begins to question everything. Kali was so sweet and adoring. Surely he should trust her. But Poly is Dr. O'Keefe's daughter. How can she be mixed up in anything bad? Adam better decide whose side he's on fast, before kidnapping escalates to murder.
