About

This charming picture book helps young kids practice counting and subtracting and is a fascinating introduction to the unique world of stick bugs!

Meet Mama stick bug and her six little sticks.
Mama’s going to teach them how to hide
so six little sticks stay safe outside.

But when Mama counts her little ones, she can find only five. When she tries again, there are just four. Each time Mama counts, one more stick bug is gone! It seems the six little sticks are already experts at hide-and-seek. Can you help Mama spot them?

This engaging search-and-find book for young children features playful text by Tiffany Stone and charming illustrations by Ruth Hengeveld. At the back of the book you’ll also find stick bug facts as well as a list of other insects to spot!

“A humorous seek-and-find counting book … Sharp-eyed young readers will enjoy searching the pictures for tiny, comic clues as to the whereabouts of the babies as they practice counting down from six to one and back up again to six and beyond."—Wall Street Journal
