About

Nathan's New Moves by Bryan Patrick Avery follows Nathan, an enthusiastic young comedian who is excited to perform his newest jokes at his school's upcoming talent show.

He has been looking forward to entertaining his classmates and sharing his sense of humour onstage. However, his plans unexpectedly change when his classmate Chad's hip-hop dance partner suffers an injury and can no longer participate in their performance. With the talent show approaching, Chad asks Nathan to take his partner's place, leaving Nathan with a difficult decision between performing his carefully prepared comedy routine and helping a friend in need. Although dancing is different from the act Nathan originally planned, the opportunity challenges him to consider trying something unfamiliar and stepping outside his comfort zone.

As Nathan weighs his options, the story explores friendship, teamwork, flexibility, and the importance of supporting others when unexpected challenges arise. Through its relatable school setting and engaging illustrations, the book encourages young readers to embrace new experiences, develop confidence, and recognize that helping friends can sometimes mean adjusting their own plans.
