About

J.C. is excited to head to the park, but his plans change when his mom notices that a new neighbor needs help moving. Instead of going straight to play, J.C. must learn how to make the best of the situation while lending a helping hand.

As he gets involved, he discovers that helping someone else can be rewarding and that unexpected experiences can still be fun. The story introduces young readers to themes of kindness, cooperation, community, and being a good neighbor. Part of the Jalen’s Big City Life series, the book uses an easy-to-read story about everyday city life to encourage children to think about helping others and adapting when plans change.
