Every March, people across India and around the world celebrate Holi, the Hindu festival of color, new life, love, and spring. In Celebrations & Festivals: Holi, the festival is brought to life through the eyes of two children who are celebrating Holi with their family and friends.

Join Basanti and her twin sister as they pick flowers, tell traditional Hindu stories around the bonfire, prepare delicious sweet dumplings, and playfully throw bright gulal powders over each other, turning everyone’s white clothes into a rainbow of color and a symbol of new beginnings.

Along the way, you’ll learn all about the significance and history of the festival, brought to even more life with:

• Instructions to make your own colorful tie-dyed T-shirt
• A recipe to make delicious kulfi ice cream
• A fun quiz to test out all your knowledge

In this immersive exploration of Holi, young readers join a family as they celebrate. Seen through the eyes of young children celebrating themselves, this is a simple and exciting way to introduce little ones to this special period.
