About

Goofy's nephew Gilbert faces an exciting but intimidating experience when he prepares to go on a field trip and discovers that his fears are making it difficult to enjoy the adventure. Unsure whether he is brave enough to participate, Gilbert learns that understanding unfamiliar situations and practicing new skills can help him feel more comfortable and confident.

Through gentle encouragement and playful experiences, he begins to discover that courage does not mean never feeling afraid, but finding ways to face challenges despite those feelings. Featuring familiar Disney characters and colorful illustrations by Jerrod Maruyama, the story introduces young readers to the importance of emotional growth, perseverance, and self-confidence. As Gilbert prepares for his outing, children are encouraged to recognize their own worries and approach new experiences with curiosity and determination.

Part of the Disney Growing Up Stories series, this reassuring picture book offers an accessible lesson about bravery and the value of learning to manage fear.
