Faith Alone

It has been almost 500 years since Martin Luther wrote his famous ninety-five theses and nailed them to the door of the Castle Church in Germany. His challenge to the doctrine of the Roman Catholic Church ignited the Protestant Reformation and shaped the evangelical tradition of the modern church. As he anguished in his quest for truth, Luther came to understand that salvation is a radically free gift that must be accepted by "faith alone." Freshly translated from the original German into today's language, Faith Alone contains a treasury of daily devotionals taken from some of Luther's best writings and sermons that reveal both the fervency of his beliefs and his profound theological insights.
