Dark Night (Alaska Wild, Bk. 3)

Winter is falling in the remote Alaskan town of Benedict, and with the cold comes a mysterious guest: the dreaded “census man,” seemingly innocuous but unwelcome by those who prefer their business private.

Meanwhile, thriller writer Beth Rivers receives an unexpected visitor—her mother, Mill, who had gone underground in search of Beth’s kidnapper. If Mill found her daughter, who else might be able to?

Then a battered woman stumbles into the town bar, her husband is found dead the next morning, and the “census man” disappears too. Suspicions abound, including the local police chief. Beth and Mill must work together to uncover the truth in the face of creeping danger.
