From Black-winged Stilts to Brushtail Possums, from Koalas to Kookaburras, it's evident in every detail of her paintings how Daryl's passion for the conservation of wildlife and wild places has informed and inspired her work.

The ancient tropical forests and majestic landscapes of Far North Queensland are home to some of the world's rarest and most fascinating species. Surrounded by this wealth of flora and fauna, Daryl works in multiple media - from illustration to watercolour - to capture the intricate beauty of her subjects. She combines this with a deep knowledge of and appreciation for habitat and behaviour that is reflected in the notes accompanying many of the artworks.

The result is a book that invites you to share in Daryl's journey to becoming an artist, and view a lifetime's work by a woman who has succeeded in blending her love of nature, her natural curiosity, and her artistic talent into a rich and rewarding career.
