Aviary

From award-winning author Deirdre McNamer comes Aviary, a beautifully crafted and emotionally compelling novel exploring the mysteries of human nature, aging, grief, and the enduring power of connection.

At Pheasant Run, a deteriorating senior residence in Montana, the residents carry private sorrows, unfulfilled dreams, and carefully guarded secrets. Among them are a grieving widow, a retired professor desperate to reclaim his former life, and a woman convinced that something sinister is happening within the building. When a suspicious fire erupts and two people mysteriously disappear, the investigation draws a perceptive fire inspector into a tangled web of deception, vulnerability, and corporate greed.

Rich with unforgettable characters, quiet suspense, and profound emotional insight, Aviary is a moving exploration of memory, resilience, and the extraordinary complexities hidden within ordinary lives.
