Okay, here’s the scoop: every time you do something awesome on our site (like placing an order or telling your book-loving bestie about us), you earn points. Rack up enough, and those points turn into book money for your next book haul. It’s like a high-five from us in reward form.

Joining is totally optional, but let's be real – why wouldn't you want to earn points every time you snag a bookish bargain?

Note: You need a Book Outlet account to earn and redeem Rewards points. Guest checkout is quick and easy, but you'll miss out on earning points for that purchase.

You can opt in when you first create your account (just verify that you're a real human and not a robot) or join later by heading to the My Rewards page in your Account Details. Easy peasy.

Here's how you can rack up points (a.k.a. sweet, sweet bookish perks):

Make Purchases
Get 1 point for every $2 you spend on books. Shipping, taxes and gift cards don't count.

Refer Your Friends
Give your pals $5 off their first $25+ order and when they buy, you earn 100 points ($5 in rewards). Max 10 successful referrals per week. Go forth and recruit your reading squad!

Connect on Socials
Earn 10 points for each of these moves (one-time only):
1. Visit us on Facebook; and
2. Visit us on Instagram.

Create an Account
Sign up for a Book Outlet account and grab 10 points right out of the gate.

For every $2 you spend, you earn 1 shiny purchase point. Got an odd-numbered subtotal? We round your points up or down to the nearest even dollar before doing the math. Spend more, score more, read more. Easy. 

Points = book bucks! Here’s the deal:

*100 pts = $5
*200 pts = $10
*400 pts = $20
*600 pts = $30
*1000 pts = $50
*1400 pts = $70
*2000 pts = $100
You’ve been racking up those points like a book-loving superstar and now it’s time to spend them! 

At checkout, just check the box that says “I’d Like to Redeem Points Towards My Order.” Then, choose how many points you want to use from the handy drop-down menu. Boom. Done.
Once you place your order, the points you used will be deducted from your balance. 

Want to see how many points you still have? Just head over to your My Rewards page.

Easy peasy! Just head over to your My Rewards page to see your current balance, check out your available rewards, and scope out how many points you need to hit your next reward milestone. 

Some points (like for signing up or creating an account) show up in your balance instantly — yay!

But points earned from purchases or our Refer a Friend program need a little processing time. These hang out in your Pending Points section on your My Rewards page while we make sure orders are shipped and not canceled or returned.

For referrals, your 100 bonus points will stay pending until your friend’s order ships. Once everything’s good to go, those points will automatically slide into your Available Points, ready to be redeemed for more bookish goodness
When a book goes back, so do the points. If you cancel or return an order, any points you earned from that purchase will be removed from your account (because, sadly, you can’t keep the points without keeping the books). 

The Book Outlet team handles this automatically, so no need to lift a finger... except to keep browsing for your next great read, or course.
Sharing is caring (and it earns you points!). 

After you place your first order (gotta lead by example), you’ll unlock your unique referral link in your My Rewards page.

Share that link with your bookish buddies. When they make their first purchase of $25 or more, they’ll score a $5 coupon, and you’ll snag 100 points (once their order ships, of course).

Share away! Once you’ve unlocked referrals, you can invite as many friends as your heart desires.

But when it comes to points, there’s a little fine print: you can earn rewards for up to 10 successful referrals (that’s 1000 points) within any 7-day period. After that, feel free to keep spreading the book love, you just won’t rack up extra points until the clock resets.
Patience, bookworm! Your 100 referral points will land in your account after your friend's order ships. While you wait, they'll hang out in My Rewards under Pending Points.

Once your friend's order ships, your points will move to Available Points and be ready to redeem.

Important: If your friend's order gets cancelled before it ships, the points won't be awarded at all.
Sometimes technology gets a little... moody. If your friend used a private browser, switched devices, or disabled cookies, the referral tracking may not work properly.

We also have a few security measures in place to keep things fair, so if your friend shares the same home address, business address, or other personal info as you, the referral might be blocked automatically.
