What is the Book Outlet Rewards Program?
This program is designed to award points for actions completed on our site. Points can be accumulated to be later redeemed for a value, to then be used towards a future order. To see how you can earn points, please visit your Loyalty Dashboard.

Do I need to sign up for the program?
No sign-up is required. All you need to do is have an account with us and you will automatically start earning points.
How do I earn points?
Purchases
Earn 1 point for every $2 spent on the purchase of a product, which does not include any amount spent on taxes, gift cards or shipping costs.

Refer a Friend to Book Outlet
100 Points Each: Give a friend $5 off their first purchase of $25 or more at Book Outlet and earn 100 points ($5 in Rewards) when they make their first purchase. Limit of 5 successful referrals per week.

How are Purchase Points calculated?
1 purchase point is awarded for every $2 spent. If the subtotal of your order is an uneven number, the points allocated for the purchase will be rounded up or down to the nearest even number.
What do I get with my points?
100 Points = $5
200 Points = $10
400 Points = $20
600 Points = $30
1000 Points = $50
1400 Points = $70
2000 Points = $100
How do I redeem my points?
When you have enough points accumulated, you can redeem them during checkout to apply the value to your order. To do this, select the checkbox beside 'I'd like to redeem points towards my order' and select the value from the drop-down below. Once selected, the value will be automatically deducted from your order total. After an order has been placed, the redeemed points will be removed from your overall points balance. To see your points balance, please visit your Loyalty Dashboard.
How do I check my points balance?
To see your points balance, please visit your Loyalty Dashboard. Here you will see your current balance, rewards available and the number of points needed for your next reward.
Why aren’t my points available right away?
Some of your points will be available for redemption immediately in your account (e.g. account creation and newsletter sign-up).
However, points from purchases and the Refer a Friend program will be pending until the order has shipped. For the Refer a Friend program, the 100 referral points will be awaiting the referred friend’s order placement and shipment. During this holding period, points will be listed under the 'Points Available Soon' section. This is to prevent the redemption of points for returned/cancelled product(s).
Once the holding period has passed and the order has shipped, the points will be automatically moved into your 'Available Points' area and can be claimed toward a reward if the points balance allows.
What happens to my points when I cancel my order and/or return books?
If an order is cancelled or returned, any Loyalty Points awarded for the purchase will be cancelled or removed from your account at Book Outlet’s discretion.
How does Refer a Friend work?
Share your unique referral link with your friends to invite them to shop with us! When you refer friends, they will receive a $5 coupon towards their first purchase of $25 or more and you will receive 100 points to your account once their order has shipped. To start referring, please visit your Loyalty Dashboard for your unique link.
To begin referring, please complete your first purchase with us. The ability to refer will be unlocked once your first order leaves our warehouse.

How many times can I refer my friends?
While unlimited referrals may be sent once this feature has been unlocked, there is a Points payout limit of 10 successful referrals (a value of 1000 Points) within a 7 day period.
How long until I receive my referral points?
Points from the Refer a Friend program will be held until the order of the referred friend has been shipped. During this holding period, points will be listed under the 'Points Available Soon' section. This is to prevent the redemption of points for returned/cancelled product(s). If your friend’s order is canceled or returned, the 100 points awarded to you for their purchase will be cancelled/removed from your account at Book Outlet’s discretion.

Why did my referral not go through?
In some cases, the referral tracking may be interrupted which results in the referral not being successful. This happens in private browsers, or if devices are changed.
In addition, we do have security flags in place to prevent the wrongful awarding of points. This means, that in some instances, referrals may be blocked. Therefore, friends who are referred must not have the same home or business addresses or other personal information as you.
If you referred a friend and did not get your points, please contact our Customer Experience team for assistance so that we may look into it further.
