Ways of Seeing

Although we use language to interpret and express the world around us, we see in images, not words. Ways of Seeing brings together seven essays on the process of sight-interpretation, four of which use both words and images, and three of which are purely visual. From traditional variations in oil painting to different ways of envisioning and portraying women, this work explores our relationship with our strongest and most immediate method of perception.
