Waste Tide

Silicon Island, off the coast of China, drowns in the world's trash. Electronics - from cell phones and laptops to bots and bionic limbs - are sent here to be recycled, but in reality, amass, corrode, and pollute every spare inch of land.

Mimi is a waste worker here, processing the toxic debris and hoping to save enough money to start over somewhere new, for a better, brighter future. But she, and thousands of other waste workers like her, are at the mercy of forces much greater than themselves: ruthless local gangs, profit-hungry foreign investors, and dangerous ecoterrorists.

A war is brewing among these powers, and amid the chaos, Mimi and those like her must decide if they will remain pawns or change the rules of the game altogether.
