Pearl Richland is reaching the end of her rope. First she lost her job. Then she lost her great-aunt Pearlita. Then she inherited Pearlita's old roadside motel, which looks like the perfect horror movie setting. But at least running the motel means she can be her own boss. And her first order of business is to deal with the handsome cowboy who just checked in...

Wil Marshall was just looing for a place to wait out a nasty storm when he took a room at the Longhorn Inn. But what's a cowboy to do when the police come knocking on his door, suspecting him of murder? Good thing the feisty innkeeper can vouch for him and set the record straight. But when more trouble comes Wil's way, it becomes clear that sticking close to Pearl is not only  a good idea—it's the only option now that another storm has trapped them together, leading to some seriously hot nights...Wil didn't have plans to stay, but the inn—and Pearl—are starting to feel a lot like home.
