Exploration and Conquest: The Americas After Columbus 1500-1620

In a follow-up to The Discovery of the Americas, the author-illustrator team again utilizes a picture-book format in outlining the European exploration of the new land. Succinct writing and strong illustrations show that while the Americas provided vast riches in natural resources, food supply, and available land, the era was also marked by displacement and death for native peoples and by the introduction of slavery.
