Two false accusations.

Siblings Reed and Olive know the rules: be respectful but firm when you engage withthe police, know your rights, and never say more then you need to. But when Reed is confronted by the police while riding the subway home form school, lessons from their public defender father don't seem to work.

When Olive witnesses what happens to her brother, her first reaction is to seek out justice through the law. But when she has her own encounter months later, even she wonders what she can do to make sure she always comes home safe.

Come Home Safe explores the pain, the truths, and the hopes that come with growing up as a person of color in America, as well as why "the talk" and discussions about social justice are so important in the fight for lasting change.
