The Penguin Roget's College Theaurus in Dictionary Form

The New American Roget's College Thesaurus in one of the best known reference books of its kind. Now, for the first time in more than forty years, it has been completely revised. With more than fifteen hundred new entries, a new format, and contemporary colloquial and slang expressions, The Penguin Roget's College Thesaurus in Dictionary Form has been updated for a modern audience. This edition is both a dictionary of synonyms and a treasury of words that are related. The unique new format presents lists of words and their synonyms at half-page width, similar to a dictionary, and major categories at full-page width. The categories include brief definitions, related words, synonyms, antonyms, informal and colloquial usage, and slang. Quotes and phrases, both historical and modern, are also included with each major category in order to provide examples of usage. This addition of quotes is unique and has never been done before.
