About

At the center of this dazzling presentation of the life and teachings of Jesus is a new translation by Mitchell of what might be called the Essential Gospel. Mitchell has retained from Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John only the authentic sayings and doings of Jesus - highlighted with Mitchell's insightful commentary - and has eliminated the passages added by the early church.
