Stolen Magic (Guardians, Bk. 2)

A romantic fantasy novel by New York Times bestselling author Mary Jo Putney that blends historical 18th-century settings, sorcery, and passionate adventure with richly drawn characters and magical intrigue.

Stolen Magic follows Simon Malmain, the Earl of Falconer and chief enforcer of the Guardian Council — a group of magically gifted protectors in 18th-century Britain — who is transformed into a unicorn by the rogue mage Lord Drayton. Trapped by a curse that can only be undone by a pure-hearted maiden, Simon’s hope of returning to human form rests with Meg, a young woman he inadvertently frees from a spell and whose own forgotten magic begins to awaken.

As Simon and Meg flee from Drayton’s dark schemes to alter the future of Britain, they must not only face formidable magical dangers but also confront the deepening bond between them, a connection that could either break the curse or bind them forever.
