About

Even the most beloved library book can feel forgotten—but Bob's story is far from over!

Bob is the most popular book at Wisdom Hill Elementary School. Children love borrowing him, turning his pages and discovering the adventures inside. Being a favourite library book is wonderful, and Bob couldn't be happier.

Then Sebastian checks him out. Unlike Bob's other enthusiastic readers, Sebastian forgets all about him, leaving Bob wondering whether anyone will ever enjoy his stories again. As the days pass, Bob faces the unsettling possibility that he may never make it back to the library.

Told from the imaginative perspective of a book, Overdue: The Misadventure of Bob the Book brings humour and heart to a familiar childhood experience. Author and librarian Gloria Koster, together with illustrator Pawel Gierlinski, celebrates the joy of reading while gently reminding young readers to care for borrowed books and return them on time.

A delightful read-aloud for classrooms, school libraries and book-loving families.
