About

One morning, Stan Coveleski is surprised to find a very beautiful client in his office. Loretta Lamour, a dancer at the Full Moon cabaret, wants to hire him to find her friend Gisèle – they live in the same boarding house –, a cigarette girl by trade, who mysteriously disappeared a few days earlier.

Thanks to a contact in the police and a private investigator whom Stan hires from time to time for small jobs, the detective begins by questioning the people who knew Gisèle. Without much success. But the investigation, until then rather ordinary, takes another turn when Benjamin Katz, the old – but rich! – owner of the Full Moon approaches him to ask him in turn to find the young girl… by claiming a romance! Which, of course, Coveleski hardly believes, and even less so when Sylvia and Victor, Katz's children, meddle in the story, complicating it even further.

From then on, Coveleski is convinced: this cigarette girl, who strangely vanished, is more important than she seems, and he cites as proof the staggering number of attacks he has suffered since he started looking for her. Now, when he gets stubborn, Stanislas Coveleski is stubborn, very stubborn, and some will learn it the hard way!
