Wilfred Owen

When Wilfred Owen died in 1918 at aged 25, only five of his poems had been published, yet he was to become one of the most popular poets of the twentieth century. For decades very little was known about his life as his public image was firmly controlled by family and friends. In recent years new material has become available, shedding fresh light on his background, his struggles with religion, his sexuality, his poetic influences and the terrifying experience of war on the Western Front.
