This Old Dump

If you're an eager and beleaguered remodeler who's a little scared about tackling the challenges of turning a fixer-upper into a cozy home, let alone doing it side by side with your spouse, don't lose heart! Laura Jensen Walker knows the trials and triumphs of do-it-yourself redecorating and how it stirs up, dismantles, and remolds relationships. If you are about to embark on a project of your own, Laura has a message for you: Be prepared, because you and your spouse will probably go a couple rounds before it's all over. Laura has also collected stories from friends who've sloshed around in gushing water, lived without bathrooms, and stalked unreliable contractors. Their marriage relationships all survived the mess of remodeling, and yours will too!
