Peach Tea Smash (Tea Shop Mystery, Bk. 28)

Murder at an Alice in Wonderland–themed event threatens to send Theodosia Browning through the looking glass in the latest entry in this New York Times bestselling series.

Peach tea smash isn’t just the signature drink at the Mad Hatter Masquerade—it’s also a cocktail for murder.

A black-tie fundraiser for the Opera Society is being held at a historic old grist mill.

But amid crumbling walls, shadowy paths, neon Cheshire cats, and a host of masked revelers, a prominent Charleston banker is murdered. Not only does tea maven Theodosia Browning discover the body, but the newly minted widow begs her to help find her husband’s killer.

Theodosia is hesitant at first, but when the police seem content to question only the opera’s board of directors, she launches her own shadow investigation and discovers bitter rivals, strange coincidences, and long-forgotten secrets.

Between hosting a Regency Tea, a Book Lovers Tea, and a Chocolate Stroll, Theodosia narrows her suspect list. But things turn dramatic at Saturday night’s Opera in the Park, where performers aren’t the only ones singing arias, and a killer lurks in the wings.
