About

Gold Hunt Dig and Discover Kit combines history, geology, and hands-on excavation as young treasure hunters learn about gold and some of the adventurers who risked everything searching for it.

The activity book explores fascinating and notorious hunts for gold throughout history, including treasures hidden beneath the water and mysterious clues that have sent explorers searching for riches. After learning about these adventures, children can use the included mallet, chisel, and brush to break apart a dragon-shaped clay dig block and uncover six buried treasures. Hidden inside are two pieces of pyrite, two pieces of gold titanium quartz, a replica Spanish piece of eight, and a replica crown, giving children a mixture of mineral specimens and treasure-themed collectibles to discover.

By combining reading with a hands-on excavation experience, the kit encourages curiosity about rocks and minerals, history, exploration, and treasure hunting while allowing children to experience the excitement of making discoveries of their own.
