Frindleswylde

A lyrical fantasy novel exploring the relationship between humanity and the natural world.

When a boy known only as Wildboy is captured and taken from the forest he calls home, he is thrust into a tightly controlled city where nature has been forgotten and fenced away. Used to freedom and open skies, Wildboy struggles to understand a world governed by walls, rules and fear of the wild.

As he begins to explore this strange new place, Wildboy learns about Frindleswylde — a once-great forest that has been erased from maps and memory. With the help of a girl named Wren, he starts to uncover the truth behind its disappearance and the damage caused by severing the bond between people and nature.

Thoughtful and atmospheric, Frindleswylde is a powerful story about freedom, belonging and environmental responsibility. It invites readers to consider what is lost when the natural world is ignored — and what might still be saved through courage and connection.

“A beautifully imagined story with a strong environmental message.” — The Guardian
