About

Thomas loves basketball and plays on a rep team with his best friend, Steve. When girl-crazy Steve asks him to stay after school and watch the girls' team play, Thomas assumes he'll be bored out of his mind. BUt one of the players blows him away with her skills as she zigzags up and down the court, sinking shot after shot. Her name is Denyse, and Thomas finds out that she lives only two streets away from him. As they get to know each other, they discover that they have a lot in common. The only major difference is the color of their skin.

They start hanging out and are surprised at the cruel glances, name-calling, and hurtful comments they endure when they are together. Even their parents warn them that it is not going to be easy. Denyse and Thomas can't understand what the big deal is, but will the pressure of others' prejudice break them apart?
