Spring Reads to Put a Spring in Your Step
March 5, 2021
Here at Book Outlet, we’re (im)patiently awaiting the season’s upcoming change. Outside with the birds chirping and the sun shining, it’s easy to forget that everything is still snow-covered. So, while spring might not be in bloom quite yet, we’ve used our time in the cold to come up with a short list of recommended spring reads to keep everyone focused on the sunnier days ahead. Keep reading for our top spring-inspired picks!
Our first spring read is The Seasoned Life cookbook by Ayesha Curry. You may be wondering, how can a cookbook be a great spring read? Well, The Seasoned Life holds more than just a hundred delicious recipes for busy parents, it also offers a look into the home that Ayesha has made with her two daughters and husband, Stephen. Plus, with plenty of recipes that get the whole family involved in the kitchen – yes, even the little ones – we think this book is perfect for helping warm all of our hearts (and bellies) until spring finally arrives.
Our next recommended spring read is Love From A to Z by S.K. Ali. This book tells the unexpected love story of Zayneb and Adam, two Muslim teens who are going through significant events in their lives. While Zayneb is visiting her aunt in Doha, Qatar, over Spring Break, she and Adam unexpectedly connect. But with both of them playing perfect (and unrealistic) versions of themselves, Zayneb and Adam turn to their journals to share what they struggle to say aloud to one another. This Spring Break love story is exactly what we need to get excited for the warmer days ahead!
It just doesn’t seem right to have a spring reads list without recommending at least one book by Nicholas Sparks! In Every Breath, two strangers, Hope and Tru, cross paths in North Carolina and experience an unfathomable but electric connection. In the days that follow, their feelings for each other will give way to choices that pit family duty against personal happiness in devastating ways. If you’re looking for a love story that transcends decades, continents, and bittersweet fate, this book is the one for you.
The Nature Art Workshop is a visual resource for any artist or crafter desiring to combine their artistic talents with their love of the natural world. Perfect for spring, each page engages, inspires, and encourages artists to see the world around them in a new light while learning to create their own nature-inspired art. Whether you’re an artist at heart, or someone looking to improve your art skills and green thumb, this book is sure to help you get inspired by the natural world around you.
After all of these spring reading recommendations, we really can’t wait for the new season! If you have any additional spring books you think we should check out, feel free to let us know in the comments! We’d love to see which titles you recommend!
