Kaninda is left for dead when his family is gunned down by the warring tribe¹s army in their village in Lesai, Africa. He is 'saved' by a Red Cross-like organization called God¹s Force and brought to the UK to be adopted by a family there, against his will. He would have rather stayed in his home community of Lesai to fight his war and defend the honor of his people  and the memory of his family. In his new home, Kaninda stays silent, like a good soldier is trained to do, and plans his escape back to Africa. In the meantime, a gang war and the arrival in London of a boy from the warring tribe will force Kaninda to reconsider his ideas about revenge and loyalty.
