Fun with Fonts may well be the first font book that's actually fun to read. Author David E. Carter grew up in the era when type books were page after page of alphabets - nice for reference, but not very stimulating. Since the topic of this book was the new, often whimsical, computer fonts, Carter sought a different approach. When he started Fun with Fonts, Carter decided to showcase each font with an appropriate graphic style, as well as appropriate words. Book designer Suzanna M. W. Brown created a vast visual array of pages, while Carter used his background of producing more than a dozen comedy sketches for The Johnny Carson Show to write material for most of the fonts. Fun with Fonts has more than 170 typefaces, all shown within the context of a full page design. And best of all, each font is referenced with a source so you can buy any of them for use in your own design projects.
